The World Is Changing
Washington lost the New World Order
{Sorry for the lack of writing as I have been dealing with health issues and just had major surgery again, as well as other busy stuff in life}
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) had its meeting in central Asia not long ago. This is the Asia based economic union which includes 60% of Asia and 40% of the world's population.
Many countries are begging to join. Turkiye, which has begged for decades to join the EU, is now focused East, and is primed to play a big role as the middleman at the crossroads of Eurasia.
The sanctions on Russia have resulted in the creation and adoption of an alternative payment system to SWIFT, thereby enabling easier money transfers for trade out of US control.
Trade between Russia and China has increased 1,000 times, from $ 200 million to $200 billion per year, that is just the official volume. 1200 trucks a month travel over a thousand miles through Iran to connect Turkiye to central Asia.
And Europe is killing itself out of obedience to policies from Washington. Sweden must elected a right wing government. Italy did as well. Liz Truss just didn't last 45 days as Prime Minister of the UK. The Republicans may sweep the Midterms. When the power fails this winter in Europe, there will be chaos in all the major cities.
None of this was necessary. It all comes from a refusal to let go. For over 200 years, the Western world has dominated and controlled the world, in large part due to short term technological advances and in part due to regional decline in Asia. As technology has spread to the rest of the world, this advantage has largely declined. Meanwhile Europe became a vassal to the US and the US has now weakened and decayed.
Once the Cold War ended, the US could have just taken a step back and let the multipolar world develop. The US had no responsibility to rule the world, to pick up a burden. It was a calculated choice.
The Gulf War was unnecessary. Saddam was willing to withdraw. But the propaganda machine created fake stories of killing babies in incubators. Bush wanted a war to demonstrate US hegemony to the world.
Clinton continued having the US play world policeman and hegemon. The US interfered with Russian elections to keep Yeltsin in place and put in Putin afterwards.
Bush 2 took all this to another level, and tried to force the world under his hegemony. Obama continued this with efforts such as the Arab Spring and ISIS. Both worked to expand NATO and isolate Russia.
It is all a stupid waste of American lives and resources, but a few got very rich through this. And now the bill comes due.
I really hope the transition to a multipolar world happens without a complete destruction of the modern world. The US isn't going away but if it continues to resist the change it will get worse for everyone.
